Visakhapatnam Port Authority Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA), Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Department, has released a notification for the engagement of Trade Apprentices under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 for the year 2025-26. A total of 20 Apprentice vacancies are available in Welder, Electrician, Fitter, Motor Mechanic and Electronics Mechanic trades. Candidates who have passed ITI in the relevant trade can apply online through the Apprenticeship India portal. The online application process has started on 24 August 2026, and the last date to apply is 23 September 2026.

Stipend:

• Welder – ₹8,344.60 per month
• Electrician – ₹9,387.67 per month

• Electronics Mechanic – ₹9,387.67 per month

Qualification: Passed ITI in Welder, Electrician, Fitter, Motor Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Electronics trade.

Training Period: 01 Year for all trades.

Age Limit:

• Candidates should have completed a minimum of 14 years of age as on 31 August 2026. The notification does not specify a maximum age limit in the provided document.

Selection Process:

• The engagement of Trade Apprentices will be made purely on merit basis, considering the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in their ITI qualification. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of merit will be called for certificate verification. The allotment of trades will be made at the discretion of the Head of the Department.
• The notification also states that preference will be given to children of VPA employees according to the specified 4:1:1 ratio for VPA, CHD and outsiders, with a further sub-ratio for children of deceased, medically invalidated/ superannuated and serving employees.

After registration, they need to search for the apprenticeship opportunity, select the relevant trade, choose “Designated” as the course type, select Andhra Pradesh as the location and search for Visakhapatnam Port Authority as the establishment. Candidates can then select the applicable opportunity and submit their application.

Candidates should note that Visakhapatnam Port Authority has clearly stated that apprenticeship training does not create any claim for employment in VPA after completion of training.
