Naval Ship Repair Yard Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Ministry of Defence (Navy), Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Sri Vijaya Puram has released an official notification for the engagement of Technician (Vocational) Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. There are 50 vacancies available across 13 designated ITI trades. Candidates with 10th Pass and ITI qualifications are eligible to apply. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 17 August 2026 (10:00 AM) to 10 October 2026 (11:59 PM). Position: Technician (Vocational) Apprentice

Job Location: Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Stipend:

• Stipend will be paid as per the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and Government rules applicable from time to time.

Qualification:

• Candidates must have passed 10th/Matriculation and possess ITI qualification in the relevant trade under NCVT/SCVT.
• Eligible Trades: Electrician, Fitter, Information & Communication Technology System Maintenance (ICTSM/ITESM), Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Mechanic Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanic Diesel, Programming & System Administration Assistant (PASAA), Plumber, Carpenter, Welder, Electronics Mechanic, Sheet Metal Worker.

Note: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in the same trade under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Government, Public Sector or Private Industrial Organization are not eligible.

Age Limit:

• Minimum Age – 18 Years
• Maximum Age – No Upper Age Limit
• The minimum age is required as per the date specified for commencement of the apprenticeship programme.

Selection Process:

• Preliminary Merit List based on aggregate percentage of 10th and ITI marks
• Interview
• Technical Skill Test during Interview
• Document Verification
• Medical Examination
• The Interview will carry 50 marks, and candidates will be tested for technical skills in their respective trade.
